Guidance & Counselling

The Guidance and Counselling Section of Kendriya Vidyalaya No 2 Sambalpur (Burla) is focusing on learning level, techniques, problems solving abilities of disabled as well as special children and making them self-sufficient in their future endeavour as per their present learning and interest abilities.

Through this Guidance and Counselling programme, the CWSN and other related students able to make decision about their disability and ability level. It helps them, acquire the knowledge, information skill and experience necessary to identify Learning Level and know about what they have, how to make them, it makes them understand of their own strength and weakness. Kendriya Vidyalaya No 2 Sambalpur (Burla) has engaged and appointed a Special Educator to serve this purpose of Guidance and Counselling individually (With Special Classes) and in collaboration with external agencies (i.e. experts on Guidance and Counselling from other institutions) conducts various programmes for the students.

Best practices adopted for Guidance and Counselling

1. Identification of Strong and Weak areas of each child.
2. Achievable Learning outcomes as per their interest and ability is fixed by Subject Teacher and Special Educator
3. Workshop on Learning Outcomes with Parents at the beginning of the session.
4. Individual Care and Attention by Class Teacher and Subject Teachers by adopting appropriate pedagogy and TLM.
5. Special Remedial Classes taken by the Special Educator keeping in view of their weak areas.
6. Motivating them by highlighting their strong areas (i.e. Art, Song, Story Telling, playing Musical Instruments, etc.)
7. Regular Interactions with their Parents regarding progress of their children and guiding their wards at home.
8. Conducted workshop and Individual Counselling for the parents.
9. Career Guidance Programme for the CWSN and other students.
